Micro-course 'Data and information'

The self-paced micro-course 'Data and information'—the second in the e-Learning Series on Adaptive Social Protection—has just been launched today, 09 May 2022, by the socialprotection.org platform, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG).

In order to design and provide appropriate resilience-building programmes, it is necessary to understand household vulnerability, and who is most likely to be at risk from different kinds of shocks. In this context, course participants will learn about data and information systems for shock preparedness and response, and social registries for adaptive social protection (ASP).

The ‘Data and information’ micro-course will address these issues through a multisectoral approach, focusing on the collection, sharing and analysis of data; strengthening the information systems that inform the delivery of social protection programmes; and coordination between relevant sectors.

The course will be online from 9 May to 9 June. It is composed of four modules and takes between three and four hours to complete.
