The 3rd and the 4th micro-courses in the Social Protection Fundamentals and Topics series are already available. This series is a result of a partnership between the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the socialprotection.org platform.

The 3rd micro-course, “Integrated and digital social protection information systems”, offers a basic introduction to integrated and digital social protection information systems, including their main components, potential benefits, pillars, as well as design and implementation challenges and risks. It is based on the technical paper “Building an integrated and digital social protection information system”, by Richard Chirchir and Valentina Barca. To enroll, please, click here

The 4th micro-course, “Adaptive Social Protection”, will teach how to recognise adaptive social protection as a dedicated focus area within the field of social protection and identify the ways in which social protection systems can be adapted to build resilience before, during and after shocks. It is based on the World Bank's publication “Adaptive Social Protection: Building Resilience to Shocks”. This course is available here

All courses in the series are self-paced: students can choose to start and end at any time, going through the contents and activities at their own rhythm. Each course requires three hours of learning time to complete. A certificate of completion is awarded after concluding all required activities, including module quizzes and an evaluation survey.
